Ilona specialised in aerial skills whilst studying at Cirkus Piloterna in Sweden, after beginning her aerial training with Suvelan Circus in Finland.

She has also trained as a dancer, and obtained a Professional Diploma in Dance Studies in Contemporary dance from the Laban Centre in London.

She has collaborated with several circus, dance and theatre companies, including the Royal Opera House, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and Generating Company in the UK, Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth and JoJo Dance Centre in Finland, and Stadsteatern/Cirkuspiloterna in Sweden.

Ilona recently received funding from the Finnish Arts Council in order to create a new work.

This solo performance, 'Piiri', is currently being shown at festivals in England, France, Finland, Germany and Lithuania. Future projects include new performances with MedAndraOrd and Circo Aereo in Finland.
