MissingLinkProductions Newsletter January 2003...
News
A belated happy New Year to you all and welcome to the first Missing
Link newsletter of 2003. I hope you all had a wonderfully
relaxing holiday period.
December was an astoundingly busy month for us as we managed to
squeeze in two visits to Japan (one site visit and one Xmas and
New Year job) as well as all the Xmas party work. Huge thank
you to Aerial Roots,
The Wrong Size,
Feeding The Fish,
Kamelyan and
Browner
for all their hard work and their fantastic performances for the
launch of Ageha in Tokyo. Also a big thanks you to Bobbie,
Rio and Racquel for all you time and energy over Xmas.
Performers news this month is that you can see Danny Schlesinger
from Circo Ridiculoso
with their Lookiheeri Bird walkabout and the fantastic Complimentary
Compliments Service on the new BBC series of Happiness
on 14th January as a comedy waiter.
More television requests this month for entertainers who are interested.
A BBC documentary would like "interesting" couples
for their views on aging and Channel 4 would like to host a dinner
party in someone's house. They provide food, drink and film
crew and you provide tummy, friends and a venue. Do let me
know if either of these opportunities interest you.
Web Site
New this month are the stunning costumes of Abby
Grewcock. Abby has made costumes for many of
performers on our books and you can see examples of these on her
page.
Giant slinkie / giant inflatable performers
Bedlam Oz have new pictures on their pages
this month.
Gig of the Month
Jason Perry from The
Wobbly Juggling Company and Sam Hague were jugglers
on French and Saunders Xmas special. Unfortunately I was out
of the country and did not manage to see this, but I hear there
was also a fantastic spoof of VIVA Aerial Dance
and Melissa Merrin's
BBC aerial ident.
Quote of the Month
Quote of the month for the New Year comes from a very inspirational
evening I spent at the beginning of December listening to Noam Chomsky
speak in conjunction with the Kurdish Human Rights Project and The
Bar of Human Rights Committee.
He ended his speech by saying:
"We are each individually responsible for our own inactions"
The quote was made in regards to our current political situation,
though I feel it has much wider implications too.
Wishing you all a very peaceful and healthy new year,
Anna
