MissingLinkProductions Newsletter April 2003...

News

Welcome to the April MissingLink newsletter.  I hope you all had an enjoyable March.

We have lots of performers news this month.  Firstly, some of you may have seen contortionist Delia du Sol in The Sun this month.  Delia has some new pictures on her page of the web site.

A big congratulations to aerial act Duo Vertigo who have received arts council funding to work on new projects.

Another piece of fantastic news is that the wonderful, chair balancing comedy duo The Stretch People will be back in the UK over the summer and will be a fantastic addition to any event.  Please contact us for bookings.

For performers who are interested in working on new and innovative projects, but simply have a lack of funding, The Circus Space are proposing the Esme Fairburn Foundation grants.  Contact The Circus Space for further information about these.

A note for performers, those of you covered by Equity public liability insurance, you should be aware that this cover does not include fire performances unless you specifically request it.  For more information, please speak to Equity directly.

One final piece of good news is that the annual party celebration paid by employers was increased from £75 to £150 per head per year in this weeks budget.  So more money for all you Xmas party entertainment!

Web Site

This month we have added the fantastic comedian, juggler, escapeologist and Covent Garden regular Steve Faulkner to the site.

Also new this month is the quick draw caricaturist Paul Raymonde.

We have also addded a lot of new pictures on the site.  Earth's Most Beautiful Robot 'Electra' has been added to  Still Living Statues page.

The Wrong Size have a new picture on their page of their trapeze show 'Smoke', a collaboration between Kirsty Little and Vicki Amadume.

Bread and Butter Theatre Company have new pictures of their walkabout characters including their walkabout spaceship and 'The Pregnant Man'.

And last but not least, Aerial Roots have some new pictures of their aerial tissu act and their fire routines.

Quote of the Month

Quote of the month comes from my dad.  Whilst whinging to him this month,  he told me the very wise:

"If you do not fail occasionally, it shows you are not trying."

Wishing you all a very peaceful and happy April,

Warmest Regards

Anna
