News

Welcome to spring!

I hope all of you in the UK have been managing to catch come of the glorious sunshine we have been having recently. It has been such a surprise to everyone in London that people have actually been walking around with smiles on their faces. A real shock to the system!

I started off last month by travelling up to the Hippodrome in Great Yarmouth to see the premiere of Heir of Insanity's new stunning new show Atlantis. The fifty minute show is an amazing visual feast of aerial, acrobatics, dance, inflateables, comedy and the world's most amazing bouncy stilts. The costumes were completely stunning and the show is a real joy to watch. We hope to have new pictures on the web site soon.

Another new show I saw this month was 'Gangstars' which is the new show from the Generating Company. The circus show is set in 1920's America and performers (T)hat Juggler is in the show. You can see more pictures of their acts on our web site.

I also managed to see the wonderful Caroline Parker performing at The Soho Theatre in Graeae's new production Peeling. As always I really enjoyed their show and there were some very poignant issues which managed to be both provocative and funny. An extremely well scripted and well performed pieces.

Last piece of news this month is a reminder about 'Mitch's All Stars' gig in aid of the Kurdish Human Rights Project at the 100 Club on 8th May 2002. The legendary Wild Angels' reunion will be supported by Mark Thomas, Mark Steel and Boothaby Graffoe amongst others. Tickets can be purchased from http://www.ticketweb.co.uk .

Web Site

We have two new stilt walking groups on the site this month, both with fantastic costumes. Divine Company have a wide range of stunning costumes ranging from stilt walking geisha to swan lake on stilts.

The very talented football juggler Sam I Am has officially changed his performing name to Sam Veale.

The Final addition to the web site this month is a radio interview I did recently to help promote the Bodyform Opportunity Awards, who funded a laptop for me last year. The interview can be found on the testimonials page of the web site.

Enquiry of the Month

There has been stiff competition for this title this month - though both enquiries came from the same client. The first was for a one man band performer to do a rendition of 'Like a Virgin' for a corporate party and the other was for a George Michael impersonator to sing and hand out towels in the gents.

Quote of the Month

After several complaints about the lack of quote last month, it returns with a stifled giggle. I was sent the following email last week, which unfortunately made me laugh far more than it should have...

"What with all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person which almost went unnoticed last week. Larry La Prise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Kokey" died peacefully aged 93.

The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in - and things just started to go downhill from there."

Have a great May all of you.

Warmest Regards

Anna
