MissingLinkProductions Newsletter June 2003...

News

Welcome to a very sunny June Missing Link newsletter, I hope you are all well and had a good May.

Our performers have been getting everywhere this month.  Many of you may have seen the wonderful stilt walking tree from Mark Tate on 'Later with Jools Holland' at the beginning of the month boogying away.

Los Kaos have just come back from Cananda where they have been filming with Cirque du Soleil with their amazing anamatronic stilt walking creatures.

Another opportunity for performers is that the Jerwood Circus Awards are open for application for devising new pieces as well as expansion of existing projects.  Please contact Lee Kendall at The Circus Space for further information.

One final piece of fantastic news is that the big boss at The Circus Space. and someone who makes sure I had lots of chocolate and took tea breaks when Missing Link was just a wee baby, has now had a new born of his own.  Congratulations to Teo and the lovely Ruth on the birth of Albie.  Wishing you much sleep and smiles!

Web Site

New to the web site this month is one of our favourite all-round entertainers, Browner.  This juggler, stilt walker and fire performer was one of the performers we worked with in Tokyo over Xmas and New Year. Very nice pictures they are too.

Also new to the site this month are the wonderful stilt creations of Larkin' About.  From deep-sea divers to ballroom dancers this company have an array of fantastic costumes.

Gig of the Month

Many thanks to the lovely girls from Aerial Roots for choreographing a whole new 'Zorro' themed piece for a job in Greece last month.  We will put the pictures of the fake 'tashes on the site as soon as we have them.  A huge thank you also to Simon from Heir of Insanity, our star "anything-is-possible" rigger.

Quote of the Month

I would apologise for last month's quote, but I think it made enough of you laugh to get away with it.  That'll be what happens when my lovely editor is busy... (apologies, Ed.)

This month I am back on the ball though.  Quite a few of our performers are working on a comedy horror film at the moment.  Quote of the month has to go to Heather from Pomegranate who relayed to me that whilst filming on a sunny morning last week, there came a call across the field of "Could all the zombies get into the shade please, your blood is congealing".

We look forward to the release of 'Sean of the Dead' next year.

I hope that you all have a lovely June.

Warm Regards

Anna
