MissingLinkProductions Newsletter June 2004...

News

Welcome to our June Missing Link Newsletter.

At the beginning of June I went to the Streets of Brighton festival where I managed to see:
The Complimentary Compliments Service elaborately flattering passers by in the streets
Clatteratti and their new drumming act BattuBallett
Jon Hicks our favourite large scale artist
Cyberstein and his outsize robotics
Strawberry with clowning at it's best
Creature Feature and their fantastic gorillas
Swizzleshaker and their fantastic bar flaring and flamenco act street show
Larkin' About and their ballroom dancing and scarecrow stilt characters
Comic Character Creations Company and their hairy flashers
Electric Cabaret and their giant gold suited stilt characters
Theatre of Adventure and their wonderful singabout 'Lah Revolution'
Los Kaos and their baby creature stilt creature
Circo Rum Ba Ba with their Octopus Ocean water walkabout
Stickleback Plasticus with 'St Joan's Ambulance'
Miss Behave and her fantastic escapology street show
Our favourite acrobats Mimbre
Dotcomedy and their 'Changing Street's' roadwork makeover instillation comedy show.

Quite a packed few days!

I rushed back to the Circus Space Cabaret where I got to see the 1950's aerial silks act 'Plunge' from the Wrong Size and An Act Above, the 1920's feather dance contortion act from An Act Above and the fantastic new cradle act from Duo Vertigo.

Web Site

This month we have the stilt walkers, fire performers extraordinaire and balloon modellers Surface Tension added to the site.

We also have new pictures from:
(T)hat Juggler and his old school vaudeville act
Luke Wilson and his close up magic antics
Still Living Statues and their ‘Statue of Liberty’ and ‘Thinker’ statues.

Featured Performer of the Month

This month's featured performer is Stickleback Plasticus, the UK's finest over enthusiastic ballroom dancers.

Stickleback Plasticus not only have a very tight cabaret stage act but their walkabout interactive shows are the perfect addition to every event. Their compering is spot on and their comedy acrobatics makes it all look way too easy. I have yet to see these performers not be completely adored by their audiences.

Other aliases of the dancing pair are Red and Randy, the line dancers and their cheerleaders, and their acts can be performing in English, Spanish and French.

They also have their new act 'St Joan's Ambulance' with comedy first aid slapstick antics and silliness from the slightly mangled looking pair.

Stickleback Plasticus are one of those very rare acts you come across that just cut it. Their style, their skills, their timing - mix into a really polished show that leaves the audience roaring. A pleasure to work with and an act which is guaranteed to be an absolute hit at your event, there are few performers I enjoy watching and working with more.

Quote of the Month

This month's quote was a lesson in life given to me by a lovely teacher of mine Mr Williams who sadly passed away last month

"My mother always used to say to me 'It's not how you remember or who you remember it's remembering to remember and remember that is important'".

Have a good June and please note we shall be running at half capacity for the final week in June as we shall be at Glastonbury Festival

Warmest Regards

Anna
