MissingLinkProductions Newsletter August 2001...

News

Welcome to the August MissingLink newsletter.

August brings the materialisation of a new and exciting project to MissingLink: we are creating a new version of our web site. The number of visitors to our site has stayed at around 200 - 250 a week for several months. In order to try and maximise the number of people who find us we are creating a no frames version (which the search engines prefer). This will be a huge bonus to our performers as they will be getting twice the amount of publicity from us. We aim to have the first draft of CircusPerformers.com on line by the end of the month.

In July it was great to see the BA students from The Circus Space performing their solo routines. Magalie's contortion act and Nick Pike's break dancing / juggling routine were both very enjoyable, as was Ashley's clowning routine. It was also fantastic to run into The Stretch People there, who are back in Europe. A very warm welcome back boys.

July also hosted Push and the first Black British Circus Show which was a great success. Well done to all those involved.

Web Site

New additions to the web site this month have been Dingle Fingle with his comedy clown car and his vampire The Baron Von Grindle; Other Half Productions have their stilt walking angels, their television head character and acrobalance on the site.

Acts which have new pictures on the site are: Bedlam Oz with new pictures of their slinky shows, The Giant Penguins have pictures of their new act The Giant Gnomes, Legendary Lynn has new pictures of all of her acts, including the mermaid and sailor and the fantastic Miniscule of Sound have a new picture on their page.

Gig of the Month

Well done to all the performers who travelled to Yorkshire for the BMW launch at such short notice!

Quote of the Month

This one has been making me chuckle for months now; in a Chinese restaurant after a show I received a fortune cookie with the gem
"Halitosis is better than no breath at all"
.

I have it above my desk as a reminder.

Enjoy August.
