MissingLinkProductions Newsletter October 2001...
News
Welcome to our October newsletter.
September meant I could have a quick breather from the summer before
we dive into the Hallowe'en, Xmas and New Year season. I managed
to spend a lovely week at the Bristol Circus Skills Convention with
many friends and performers having a long relax after what turned
out to be a very busy summer. The
Curious Eyebrows were marvellous comperes for "The Greatest
Show on Turf" on the last weekend.
Congratulations to Matt Hennem for not getting bored of my constant
requests for "Just one more magic trick".
A huge thank you to Dunk for keeping a watchful eye on MissingLink
whilst I was off relaxing.
At the beginning of September I went to see Petra Lange
in Cirque Eloize's show where she put on a great performance both
in character and on the corde lisse.
The Circus Space hosted Heir
of Insanity's final performance (for a while of) crystalVITA.
There were many cameo roles including The
Gandini Juggling Project and a few comedy twists to the
tale. I felt very privileged to be asked to stage manage the show
and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Other news this month (which is somewhat amusing) is that I have
won the Bodyform Career Award, MissingLink gain a cash prize and
I am to attend an awards ceremony at The Globe in a few weeks. Now,
I must press on...
Following last months newsletter, I apologise for the typo in the
URL for the funding web site, it is in fact www.j4b.co.uk
, I have also now found out about www.grantsforbusiness.co.uk
. I hope some of you find this useful.
Last bit of news is that after several years of not performing,
I would like to thank Steve Kaos for being a fantastic acrobalance
partner in the big top in Bristol. Rumour has it we set a new world
record for the worlds' longest drum roll.
Web Site
Mark Tate
has have pictures of new costumes and characters.
Xmas Performers
As a little help for those of you who are a bit bit stuck for ideas
for Xmas entertainment, I have listed a few ideas. I hope this is
of some help:
Quote of the Month
After I retrieved something in the big top in Bristol, Ben from
Circus Berzercus
said
"But I was going to..." To which I replied
"Yes. You were going to and I actually did."
"And that is the difference between men and women isn't it?"
Which made me laugh a lot.
There is an old Nepalese saying which translates as "Do all
that you can to create a calm home full of love" . I think that
is the least we could all try in these troubled times.
Enjoy your October.
