| News As people in the entertainments industry we are in the very fortunate position of occasionally being able to put on an event that really makes a difference. Last year for the Circus2Iraq.org campaign we managed to raise nearly four thousand pounds. Given the hideous events over the Christmas break we have teamed up with Continental Drifts and Hey Chihuaua to put together a fund raising cabaret for the tsunami relief effort. And this time, as the cause is so much bigger we need the show to be so much bigger. We have the most amazing cabaret line up, with music from The Blockheads, stand up comedy from Mark Thomas and Robert Newman, circus cabaret extravagance from Miss Behave, Incandescence and Stickleback Plasticus and Caroline Parker, as well as pampering from the Laundrettas and mini-mayhem from the Miniscule of Sound; All closely knitted together by the vaudeville legend and artificial hip-'op star Ida Barr. |

The cabaret is on the 8th February at the Hackney Empire and tickets are £10. The box office number is 020 8985 2424. One
fantastic show, and not just for your benefit. COME ALONG! |
But that is not all you can do. Putting on a show
is expensive, even though all the artists are giving up their time for
free, the venue still needs to be paid for and publicity costs are not
cheap. I am loathed to take this money out of the door takings as the
cause is so in need of every penny. You could help us out some more. Would
your workplace be interested in donating to the hire of the venue, the
hire of the equipment etc, perhaps even sponsoring an area? We are trying
to raise more cash for the appeal by having a raffle, do you or your company
have anything that could be donated as prizes?
